- County Historians in New York
These individuals are the officially appointed historians for their counties. The list is arranged alphabetically by county.
- New York State Newspaper Project
This program is filming thousands of newspapers from around the state. A listing of microfilmed newspapers is located on the website.
- The Making of New York
A project of the 12 members of the New York Comprehensive Research Libraries designed to document the early history of New York State.
- Encyclopedia of New York State
A project of Syracuse University Press furnishing the first systematic treatment of New York State's history in more than fifty years. Contains information for prospective authors and primary and secondary students, sample entries, and a brief overview of the state's distinctive role in shaping the history of the United States.
- New York History Net
Furnishes links to academic conferences and Web sites of archival repositories, libraries, and museums, facts about the states history and politics, and a contact list of academic and community historians researching the states history.
- The Gotham Center for New York City History
The Gotham Center's mission is to help the city's many history-makers co-ordinate and publicize their activities. Their projects include a city wide history festival, development of teaching packets, a series of lectures, and a production of videos related to the history of the city.
